With a traditional divided basin sink, I always hated that I couldn't lay a skillet down in the sink to soak a bit before washing. With this sink's low divider between basins I can get even a 12-inch skillet almost completely flat in the sink. A couple of minor alerts for others considering this sink. First, I recommend a rubber mat to lay on the divider. I've had this sink a couple months and already am seeing surface scuffs in the enamel from jostling metal skillets and pans around in the sink. They seem to scour out pretty well but I see the potential for a real knick if you aren't careful. This sink is more prone to these scuffs than my old enamel-coated cast iron sink was. Second, the template provided by Kohler for cutting out the countertop opening it not sized to the sink very well. The estimated delivery date was April 13. On about the 15th, I started tracking it to see where it was. But Amazon has it set up so there is no way to inquire of the shipper, or Amazon, or the seller. They do this intentionally of course so people don't call about arrival times. Regardless, as of May 4, 2012, I still hadn't received it, and there's no way to reverse the transaction because there's no option under "Return" for "Never arrived." And the tracking details provide no information whatsoever that you can use to follow up with anyone (again, of course they do that intentionally).And now, guess what, I submitted a refund request and they're suggesting that, when it finally does arrive, I have to pay $ 100 to return it since it's heavy. They are dreaming. I am submitting a fraud claim to my credit card company for the full amount, and I will give them specific instructions as to where they can come... Read more |
